Hello and greetings from the church of Christ. I am just writing a quick post about how to have abundance in your life. Thmere are many people in our nation that lack abundance in their daily lives. Although, there are economic issues and many circumstances that cause the lack of abundance in an individual’s life, the overriding issue can be found in God’s word, the Bible.
Let us notice in Matthew 6:33:
Matthew 6:33 (ASV)
33 But seek ye first his kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Here in this verse when we examine the context, it tells us that God is able to take care of nature and it’s weakest creatures and that as He provides for the needs of creation so shall He provide for humankind. Jesus Christ is telling us that their is no need for anxiety for food, clothing and shelter for if we put the kingdom of God first…in other words if we would come under the rule of God and implement the “righteousness of God” in our lives our needs would be fulfilled.
Let us see if we qualify for this blessing from God by asking the questions..h.what kingdom are you presently in and does your righteousness meet God’s standard of righteousness.
Are you in God’s Kingdom?
Well you may be reading this and be in a country that is a republic or a democracy or what ever for you country may not have a kingdom but the Bible using this word to show who rule that you are subject. When someone “rules over you” they dominate you or have dominion over you.
Colossians 1:13 (ASV)
13 who delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of his love;
Colossians 1:13 (NIV)
13 For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves,
Notice in the NIV version of the Bible verse that the “us” you and i had to be “rescued” by the Lord Jesus. Although you and i live in country in this world, Satan is lord over the countries of this world and all the citizens of this world who have not been rescued by trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ. We see that in Eph. 2:1-3 that Satan is the prince of “darkness”
Ephesians 2:1-3 (NIV)
1 As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins,
2 in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient.
3 All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath.
Next time, Lord willing, i will discuss, how to get “rescued” from the kingdom of the air or the kingdom of darkness.
