One took out his tonsils, one removed his appendix, and another pulled out all his teeth. Nothing seemed to help. He still had ringing in his ears, bulging eyes, and a flushed face. Finally a doctor told him that there was no hope; he only had six months to live.
The poor fellow quit his job and decided to live it up in the time he had left. He went to his tailor and ordered several suits and shirts. The tailor measured his neck and wrote down the size: 16. The man corrected him: 15. The tailor measured again: 16. But the man insisted that he had always worn a size 15 collar on his shirts. “Well, all right,” said the tailor, “but don’t come back here complaining to me if you have ringing in your ears, bulging eyes, and a flushed face!”..
. Many times in life we come to our own conclusions about our circumstances. Panic stricken, we jump to trying to control the outcome or just accepting our circumstances. The problem is that we create them or others around us. God is good all the time. Human problems are conceived and believed by humans.
In John 8:32, the Bible tells us John 8:32 (ASV) 32 and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. The man in the story found out the truth about his situation and he was set free from worry. Many times we accept our belief or feelings as the truth and are dead wrong.
If we always seek wisdom from God and have faith in what His Word tells us, many of the pains and sorrows we bring upon ourselves would not happen. The Bible teachs us in Proverbs 3:5-7 not to depend on our own understanding: Proverbs 3:5-7 (ASV) 5 Trust in Jehovah with all thy heart, And lean not upon thine own understanding: 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, And he will direct thy paths. 7 Be not wise in thine own eyes; Fear Jehovah, and depart from evil: Give thanks unto the God, for He is good…..
