Obedience To God Must Be Precise

Precise Obedience

When we think of obedience in terms of humans, good enough is the goal. An attitude previals in many churches that the size of the congregation determines how precise we are in our obedience. When the size is small, it appears that that is a license to do “just enough”. The Bible does not teach “good enough” obedience.

We are living in a time in which any religious truth will do. What this has done is introduce a new gospel which is not new but what the Baptist orJ Methodist or Lutheran or other churches do has lead us into a garbage pit of man’s opinion and something called “core values” or common ground.(Gal. 1:5-6)

The cry of Rodney King reverberates off the walls of many churches “Can’t we all get along”. Well I am here to tell you that it’s just not getting along but it is keeping the “unity of the Spirit” ( Eph.4:1-3) It is by obedient faith(Rom. 1:17)

I never imagine that the “devil” would come up in the sanctuary and propose that we forsake the truth of the Lord Jesus Christ for the help of a few men. Is the Lord of the universe not able to care of His own?? Does not Ps. 23:1 tells us that that the Lord is my Shepherd?

I would rather go the heaven with the “faithful few” then to hell in a Cadillac and a boat load of money with 700 unfaithful who massage my ego with how great I am! Yeh, I can hear folk saying that you’re too deep Bro. Too much learning has made you crazy. Don’t get it twisted. I don’t have a gripped with you, but “right is right and wrong is wrong”

Jesus was precise in His obedience to God the Father

The “religiously” correct say that you must treat every truth the same even if it conflicts with the Person of the God Head who is the truth. (Jn. 14:6) The Lord Jesus Christ said “I am the way, the truth and the Life”. That did it for me. In this verse there is “Precision”, it is precise not a variant of some kind. Why did Paul worry about a man living with his father’s wife”? (1 Cor. 5:1-2)  Paganism suggest that what is immorality has change. Fornication is no longer fornication because everyone has a “consensual right” to fulfill that “lust”(Gal. 5:19) If it is ok with you and it’s ok with me “What’s God Got To Do With It?’ Everything!

Jesus provides  us an example of faithful, precise and loving obedience:

 John 14:31 (NASB)
31  but so that the world may know that I love the Father, I do exactly as the Father commanded Me. Get up, let us go from here..

John 5:19 (NASB)
19  Therefore Jesus answered and was saying to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in like manner. John 5:30 (NASB)
30  “I can do nothing on My own initiative. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is just, because I do not seek My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.

 John 12:48-50 (NASB)
48  “He who rejects Me and does not receive My sayings, has one who judges him; the word I spoke is what will judge him at the last day.
49  For I did not speak on My own initiative, but the Father Himself who sent Me has given Me a commandment as to what to say and what to speak.
50  “I know that His commandment is eternal life; therefore the things I speak, I speak just as the Father has told Me.”
