Jesus Christ-The Son Of God At The Well

Jesus Christ-The Son Of God At The Well

 John 4:11 (NASB)
11  She *said to Him, “Sir, You have nothing to draw with and the well is deep; where then do You get that living water?

When we look at this verse, it is apparent that the question the woman at the well is questioning the ability of the Lord Jesus Christ to get “living water” from the well. This questioning of the Savour is not just limited to those who don’t know Him but if we are true to ourselves we limit the sufficency of Christ based on our own human self sufficiency.

This perception of what the Lord Jesus Christ can do is limited by what i perceive i can do. This attitude leaks over into our abiliity to pray about issues that is beyond our own self sufficency. In fairness to the Samritan woman at the well, she did not know about person that she was talking.

When we look in John 1:1-3 we find the identity of the Lord Jesus Christ.John 1:1-3 (NASB)
1  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2  He was in the beginning with God.
3  All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.

These verses clearly reveals that “the man at the well” is both “man and the creator and the ALL THINGs came into being through Him and APART from Him NOTHING came into being that has come into being.. The woman at the well didn’t know that she was not just talking to a man but Jesus who is “GOD-man”

Friend, if you are feeling the pressure of a failing economy, failing health,failing families, failing relationships. There is hope in the Lord Jesus Christ, God’s gift of righteousness given to those who believe and obey the glorious gospel of Christ.This hope in God through Christ Jesus is revealed. Romans 5:1-5 (NASB)
1  Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
2  through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God.
3  And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance;
4  and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope;
5  and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Hope in the glory of God can be assurance that all the promises God made to us is sure not only because God cam’t lie but If God fail to do what He said He would, it would diminish His glory and we know God will not diminish His glory. So what ever difficult circumstances you are going through, God is faithful.

Romans 8:28 (NASB)
28  And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
