1 Corinthians 15:10 (NIV)
10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them–yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.
1 Corinthians 15:10 (NLT)
10 But whatever I am now, it is all because God poured out his special favor on me—and not without results. For I have worked harder than any of the other apostles; yet it was not I but God who was working through me by his grace.
John 1:5 (NIV)
5 The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.
There are parts of the world that is in darkness at this time…they have not seen the light of the grace of God touch their personal midnights. I would suggest if you have suffered irreconcilable losses that you are in a dark place. If your home is in foreclosure, if you have lost someone dear to you, if you have a child on drugs, if you have a child in prison, if you are sick and can’t get well….you’re are in a dark place.
It is the dark places where the light of grace is needed….and it is in dark places that the grace of God shines and we cannot understand it. I am in a dark place myself at this time and for a while even though the grace of God was shining through….i just didn’t understand??? I am wise enough not to question God’s wisdom or His Love for He always is ready to act out of love to us.
As I was setting in a dark place after losing my mom, the phone ring and the voice on the other end told me one of my college buddies had suddenly passed away….i thought for a moment and told myself that God is good all the time,,,even in the darkest place..
I was lead to this particular text by the holy Spirit :
2 Corinthians 1:3-5 (NIV)
3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort,
4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.
5 For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.
By affliction I am where I am,,,but by His grace I am what I am and what I shall become! For just as the sufferingg of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ the grace of comfort shall over flow our afflictions and drive out the darkness of the place that we are in…
Ephesians 1:3 (NIV)
3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.
To God be the glory!
