Effective Prayer-Praying So God Hears…

Ephesians 3:20 (KJV)
20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

1 John 5:14-15 (KJV)
14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

I heard a conversation that someone said that had prayed to God for a job and after waiting 6 months of so that they got job and their prayers seemed to have been answered but not exactly as they requested. When prayers go unanswered many people will consider that God responded to their prayers with a no. But is that really true?

Effective prayer begins from within the person who is doing the asking. Let us note that to even be heard by God, one must asked by the power that works in the Christian, the Holy Spirit. All believers receive the indwelling  Spirit of God through obedient faith when they obey the gospel of Christ. There is an idea that is going around that anyone who prays to God is heard and that is not true either. Listen to the Bible in

You must be living in the will of God to be heard by God…

Isaiah 59:1-2 (KJV)
1 Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

You must be living in the will of God to be heard by God. Many people who are not Christians are praying to God in vain. It isn’t because God can’t hear them but that He will not them. Well then one might say, i prayed and God blessed me with abundance. The question now becomes…who really blessed you when you are not in the will of God? I only know of one being who will bless you when you are not in the will of God and that’s the devil. Notice if you please:

Luke 4:5-6 (NASB)

5 And he led Him up and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
6 And the devil said to Him, “I will give You all this domain and its glory; for it has been handed over to me, and I give it to whomever I wish.
